Quilt Trade Association (QTA) organizes various regional “round table” events discuss topics of mutual interest for quilt shop owners that are geographically within easy traveling distance.. QTA’s motto is “quilt shop owners helping each other” and these round tables provide a way for owners to meet, without having to travel far thereby keeping travel time and costs to a minimum. This round table is held in the San Francisco Bay area. It is encouraged that all shops in the Bay area attend, however any and all quilt shop owners are welcome to attend, regardless of your location (if travel is practical).

This round table topic, “How Does Your Quilt Shop Grow?” focuses on how to grow today’s quilting community…specifically in one geographic locale…the Bay area. Every quilt shop has its own unique offerings. This round table is not meant to share your “trade secrets”. Rather, it is designed as a brainstorming session to discuss how the collective group of quilt shops can grow the community of quilters in our area…so if one quilt shop owner wins, all quilt shop owners win.

The round table will begin with Alex Anderson providing a brief introduction with some insight into this topic. The vast majority of the remainder of time will be sharing each quilt shop owner’s thoughts about what you think the #1 focus should be for survival to ensure the health and well-being of local quilt shops. Each participant (quilt shop owner) will be asked to speak on this and then as a whole, the discussions that ensue will help determine what could be done to meet the goal of growing the community of quilters in the Bay area.

This Round Table will be held in the classroom of The Cotton Patch, hosted by Carolie Hensley, Owner, beginning at 11am on Tuesday, November 30th. Carolie is providing lunch for all participants.

This session is not a presentation about solutions, but rather an open forum "round table" for quilt shop owners to help each other. This is sure to be a round table that is jam-packed with networking opportunities and meeting new peers. Please join us!  Click below to register.

If you're not yet a QTA member, Join QTA now so that your registration will be processed. QTA membership is free through December 31, 2010.  This round table is free for QTA members.

Space is limited and available on a first come first served basis. Register by November 19th.
