This information provides a recap of the Industry Collaboration Central Virtual Meeting that was held on June 10, 2010.  For more information about future Industry Collaboration Central Meetings, please contact us.

A key focus of a non-profit trade association (QTA is non-profit) is collaboration between its membership to help sustain and grow the industry.  For QTA, our membership is comprised of quilt shop owners and companies that supply quilt trade products and services.

Industry Collaboration Central (ICC) is a "think tank" advisory group of quilt shop owners and industry leaders working together to solve the challenges facing the quilting industry - including but not limited to how to overcome the reality of the quilter's average age, image and time availability.

QTA will help build, coordinate and facilitate programs and services that help overcome these (or other) challenges.  First, QTA members together with the QTA Board of Directors must reach a consensus on the who, what, where, why and how of these programs and services.  QTA was just launched in February, 2010, so the ICC is currently in a start up mode.  We have already experienced a wealth of interest in it, but we need your voice!  If you are a QTA member, then we need you!

At this introductory session of the Industry Collaboration Central (ICC) QTA will discuss why the ICC was formed and how to proceed with identifying, discussing and formulating actions to solve critical problems facing the quilt industry today. In an open dialog, attendees will be asked to share their views of the industry and contribute their thoughts on whether overcoming the quilters “age”, “image” and “time availability” challenges are the highest priorities to contend with in the quilt industry.
